Construction on the Industrious coworking location in Charlotte is well underway on the 27th floor of Bank of America Plaza.
This will be the 23rd Industrious location and its 18th city, so the company knows what they’re doing.
The leadership team locally has been conducting walkthrough tours for the last several weeks and interest has been strong. Community Manager Sydney Stern said Monday that she’s already completely booked on tours for the rest of the week.
As of Monday afternoon, 46 out of the 101 offices had been reserved or had pending deals. More than half of the offices on the outer ring, which have windows with skyline views, have already been claimed.
Pricing varies based on office size and the view.
The outer ring tends to be more expensive than interior offices, though natural light filters through to them. Offices with all glass walls are also more expensive than those that have drywall.
Offices are the big deal at Industrious.
There are only six memberships available for true “coworking” slots, where you don’t have a dedicated desk and work out of communal space. All six are still available as of Monday, Stern said.
There are an additional 18 “benching” seats, which refers to dedicated desk space in a communal area.
But Industrious also wants to bring people out of their offices.
The design theme for the Charlotte office is “modern and welcoming,” and Stern said there will be multiple things each day designed to get people out of their offices and mingling.
Breakfast will be served each morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. — at no additional cost. Similarly, snack time will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily and could include a specialty toast bar or hummus bar. Thursdays will include happy hours.
“We really compete on the meat and cheese trays,” Stern said.
When finished, the cafe area will look like this.
Bathrooms will be stocked with things like lotions, mouthwash and Band-aids.
The office is expected to open August 7.
There’s a launch party scheduled for August 17.
