Why you should go: Enjoy a seriously festive event at the golf pavilion with live music, food trucks, local NC beer, games and fireworks. Picnic blankets or patio folding chairs are highly recommended, and this event is completely free and open to the public.

Why you should go: Join the city’s symphony for a rousing salute to America with a night of patriotic favorites finished with an insane fireworks finale.

Why you should go: This will be a two-day celebration featuring outdoor adventure, yoga, live music and huge firework displays. Musical performances on the Belmont Abbey Island stage will take place in the afternoon and evening of each day, followed by fireworks.

Why you should go: Join the Knights at BB&T Ballpark for a patriotic fireworks display following the final out. If you can grab some Cracker Jacks for the show, you won’t find a more American way to celebrate the fourth.

Why you should go: Help Sycamore Brewing celebrate their new line-up of completely redesigned cans with special beers on tap, two stages, multiple pouring stations, food trucks and bands all day. This event will be a grand combination of a music festival, food truck Friday and Sycamore’s best brews.

Why you should go: They’ll be featuring several new beer releases throughout the day as well as bringing back some fan favorites. You’ll also be entertained with live music and exclusive food options.

Why you should go: You and your fellow yogis are invited to join the NC Yoga Bar, OrthoCarolina and the Charlotte Knights for a special pre-game yoga session held on the field. The private, on-field yoga session will begin at 8 a.m. and last around an hour.

Why you should go: When else can you enjoy three-course meals from Charlotte’s best restaurants for $30 or $35? They’ll have plenty of options for you (130+ restaurants in nine counties to be exact), but don’t forget to snag reservations.

Why you should go: Barnstock is a BYOB music festival, founded and hosted by a NC family, that raises money for local nonprofits. This year they’ll be focusing on organizations including Planned Parenthood of the South Atlantic, Carolina Refugee Resettlement Agency, Time Out Youth Center for LGBTQ kids and more. Why you should go: Starting July 24 you can take a bite out of Charlotte’s burger scene for just $5 a burger. Not only will you get to spend a whole week eating $5 burgers, you can help find the best burger in town by voting for one of their 40+ participating restaurants.

Why you should go: Break out the red, white and blue for prizes, drink specials, free cover, giveaways, swag and free hot dogs. Adding on to this massive display of patriotism, a portion of the proceeds will directly benefit a local military charity.

Why you should go: Expect food, music, new brews and a packed house for this celebration. Your ticket will include a custom glass, two drink tokens and live music. You’ll be able to snag Farmhouse BBQ, Your Moms Donuts and Mysausagebuddy throughout the day.

Why you should go: Give your dog a chance at fame and sign your pup up to enter the Doggie Days Summer Pageant ($20-$25 entry fee). There will also be local vendors and dogs available for adoption, with proceeds benefiting Long Trails to Happy Tails Dog Rescue.

Why you should go: Ever wanted to stay in the Duke Mansion but don’t have the funds? Luckily, their annual open house is coming up and you can tour the house and gardens at your leisure. Expect free valet parking and refreshments, and gift shop opportunities. RSVP online.

Why you should go: Help spread Human Trafficking Prevention Awareness at this family-centered event. Expect bouncy houses, games, face painting, music, contests and food trucks.
