May

21st Annual Twilight 5K  May 12, 7 p.m. – Start and finish the race at Uptown’s Wells Fargo Atrium and hit the streets to benefit the Right Moves for Youth. Registration for the 5K starts at $30 with prices for the K-12 5K and kids’ run at the $20 and $10 mark, respectively. Prices increase May 11 at midnight. Register.

Mother’s Day 5K  May 14, 8 a.m. – Celebrate Mother’s Day with Hunstad/Kortesis’ 5K and Kid’s Dash near SouthPark’s Symphony Park. Moms will enjoy free mimosas and wine. $40. Register.

Domestic Violence Awareness Run/Walk May 20, 8 a.m. – Help raise money to bring awareness domestic violence and organizations like Safe Alliance and the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage. $20. Register.

Charlotte LUNGe Forward 5K  May 20, 7 a.m. – Get involved with the Lung Cancer Initiative of North Carolina, a non-profit supporting lunch cancer research and education, at their 5K and 1-mile runs and walks. Expect a survivors’ breakfast and entertainment, exhibits, music and speakers. $15-$30. Free for survivors. Pre-registrants get a t-shirt. Register.

Run! Ballantyne  May 20, 7:30 a.m. – The 13th year of the Run! Ballantyne race will include an 8K, 5K and Fun Run through Ballantyne Corporate Park to Sara’s YMCA, food trucks, a DJs and more. $15-$35. Prices rise on race day. Register.

Super Run  May 20, 8 a.m. – Grab your favorite superhero garb and raise money for charities like the American Association for Cancer Research Foundation, Cure Search for Children’s Cancer and more. Registration starts at $34, with prices rising day of, and capes will be handed out at packet pick-up on May 19. Register.

PNC Speed Street 5K  May 25, 7 p.m. – The race starts and ends at Romare Bearden Park and will finish with an afterparty featuring a DJ. $35 ($40 day of). Register.

Memorial Day Trail Race – May 28, 9 a.m. – Kick off Memorial Day weekend with a 5- or 8-mile race through the Whitewater Center’s trails and hang out for the day at the Center’s Memorial Day Celebration with live music and fireworks. Registration starts at $30 (5-mile) and $35 (8-mile) and participants must register by May 25 for this price. T-shirts are guaranteed for those registered by May 21. Register.

June

Carolinas CARE  June 3, 8 a.m. – Run a 5K through McAlpine Creek Greenway to support Carolinas CARE and help prevent the spread of HIV, provide housing, medical case management, access to care and more for those living with the disease. $30-$35. Register.

Keep Pounding 5K  June 3, 8 a.m. – Check-in begins at 6:45 a.m. and to pass the time until the race begins, there will be a pep rally featuring special guests from the Panthers. After, enjoy an award ceremony at the Practice Field. Entry is limited to the first 1,000 registrants and due to stadium construction, runners will follow an alternate course. $30. Register.

King Tiger 5K  June 3, 7:30 a.m. – Run with a team of four downhill before fighting up a hill and finishing with a downhill jog. Grab a free Rita’s ice when you finish and enjoy snacks from Trader Joe’s, Great Harvest Bread Co. and Hickory Tavern. $7-$17 (prices will increase). Register.

NoDa 5K  June 3, 6 p.m. – Start and finish the race near the original NoDa Brewery Company location (2921 North Tryon) and grab a free pint when you cross the finish line. Results will be tracked using the MyLaps chip system. The afterparty will include beer, food trucks, live music, prizes and a photo booth. $35 ($40 day of). The first 1,100 registrants will receive a medal and those registered before midnight on May 15 will receive a t-shirt. Register.

HEARTest Yard + Showmars 5K – June 17, 8 a.m. – Join Greg Olsen to support the Levine Children’s Hospital (all proceeds benefit the HEARTest Yard Program/Program for Pediatric Hearts) and enjoy refreshments, music, inflatables and more after you cross the finish line. $30. Register.

Brew Dash 6K – June 17, 9 a.m. – Earn the beers you’ll be sampling at the Whitewater Center’s 6th Annual Brew Stash Bash by running a quick 6K trail race. Registration starts at $30 (recreational), $35 (competition) and $50 (both) and include access to the Brew Stash Breakfast, food, drink and awards after. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners who register by June 11. Register.

Moonlight Bootlegger 5K – June 17, 8:55 p.m. – Run through a candlelit Anne Springs Close Greenway with a headlamp or flashlight and keep track of distance with the help of a bluegrass band at each mile marker. After you’ve crossed the finish line, enjoy live music and two free moonshine drinks. Registration starts at $29 (must register by February 28 for this price) and gets runners a t-shirt (if they’ve signed up by June 8), food and drink, two moonshine drink tickets and a commemorative moonshine mason jar. Spectators ($15) receive entrance to the party, 2 moonshine drinks and a mason jar. Register.

Taste of Charlotte Race to the Taste 5K – June 20, 9 a.m. – Come hungry. Runners and walkers can participate in a full 5K or a one mile Cupcake Run/Walk, on which cupcakes will be handed out along the route, before crossing the finish line for live music, cold beer, more cupcakes and, finally the Taste of Charlotte. Registration starts at $15 (will increase in June), which gets participants a t-shirt, ticket to a Checkers Game and a Taste of Charlotte Super Coin. Register.

Strides for Shelter 5K  June 24, 8:30 a.m. – Proceeds will benefit the cost incurred in serving the 4,000 homeless children in the CMS system ($1,000 per child per year). Baby jogging strollers and dogs aren’t allowed and the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged. $15-$25 (prices will increase). Register.

July

Firecracker 5k  July 3, 7 p.m. – Run a 5K or Family Fun Run through the Olde Providence neighborhood before enjoying a pool party with music, food and drinks at the Windyrush Country Club. $10-$25 (prices will increase). Register.

Tread Nightly & Tread Brightly Half Marathon & 4 Miler – July 21 and 22, 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. – Run through the Whitewater Center’s trail system just before you sleep and wake up and do it all over again the next morning. You can camp overnight, but slots are limited to the first 200 registrants. Registration starts at $30 (4-miler), $50 (half), $60 (both 4-milers and camping), $80 (half and 4-miler and camping) and $100 (both halves). Registration includes camping and a t-shirt for those who register by July 16. Register.

August

OrthoCarolina 10K Cassic  August 19, 7:30 a.m. – Runners will start at the OrthoCarolina Sports Medicine Center at the corner of Randolph Road and North Colonial Avenue and finish in the same place and enjoy local brews and food trucks afterward. $25-$30 (prices will increase). Register.
