The Ivey takes advantage of the historical building it calls home and brings a gorgeous, high-end hotel to our city’s Uptown.
The Ivey Hotel is now open and every room in the 42 room boutique hotel is a masterpiece and a pure work of art.
From the decadence of the finishings to the beauty of the artwork (the clocks are my favorite), this historical aesthetic and its small details like the 400-year-old French oak creates an experience both perfect and meticulously crafted.
No expense was spared, no detail was overlooked in bringing this property to life and it delivers.
It’s clear that MRK Property Development put significant love, money and effort into this hotel. Each of the four types of rooms available for rent (Superior Atrium, City View, Balcony Suite and Executive Suite) have their own personalities and individual touches.
The Balcony Suites are insane and overlook Tryon in all its glory while the Executive Suite is bigger than my apartment and features a separate living room that can be used for entertaining (I see many-a bachelor/bachelorette parties booking these rooms).
Each room also has a giant flat-screen television complete with a Bose Soundbar, fully stocked wet bar, Dean & DeLuca snacks, Nespresso coffee and incredibly comfortable Italian bedding.
Every dollar of the $25 million renovation is on display here. I can’t say enough how incredible this property is and while rates can be steep (they start at around $300 and top out just over $600 per night), it is worth it to splurge and spend a staycation night here.
Charlotte desperately needs boutique hotels and even more desperately needs more 5-star accommodations, and this hits every note.
Also, not to be missed is Sophia’s Lounge off 5th Street. While this isn’t open yet, the Agenda got a sneak peek.
It’s perfect, so stay tuned to the Agenda as we bring you the full scoop on the lounge as it opens.
