The intersection of Trade and Tryon will soon be even more popular on nice evenings.
A new high-end seafood restaurant is headed to the ground floor of Bank of America Plaza and leasing space from the city to build an outdoor patio, according to the city council agenda for next week.
Eddie V’s Prime Seafood will be one of several new restaurants coming to Trade and Tryon as the whole ground level is renovated. Their patio will be right next to the “Il Grande Disco” sculpture (pictured above).
The project is part of a massive redevelopment of the public space at Charlotte’s most prominent intersection.
About 42,000 square feet of retail are being developed between Bank of America Plaza and 101 North Tryon across the street.
Bank of America Plaza itself is a $20 million redevelopment project that will create four different leasable spaces. It could be done as early as the first quarter of this year.
What is Eddie V’s?
It’s a Darden-owned restaurant chain that’s in mostly Charlotte-sized cities in seven states (including San Diego, Kansas City, Austin, Orlando and Tampa).
Dinner entrees are about $30 to $40, with steaks around $50. See the full menu here.
Here’s the Chilled Shellfish Tower ($73).
The city says another restaurant will likely be asking for patio space here soon.
