Northeastern University – Charlotte

D’Amore-McKim School of Business Online MBA | Site

Located at 101 N. Tryon St, 11th floor

Programs available: Online

Average GMAT Score: No GMAT required for the online program

Average age of student: 38

Average number of students admitted per session: N/A.  This program operates on a “carousel” model so students can drop in and out as their schedule permits.

Approximate tuition (not including books, etc): $69,700

Length of program: Program is structured in five-week terms (example: there are three terms in a fall semester). Typically, most students complete the full MBA program in two to three years.

Graduation rate: N/A

Sample of jobs attained post-grad: Executive Director, Senior Project Manager, Regional Controller, R&D Director, VP of Finance


Pfeiffer University, Charlotte

Pfeiffer University, MBA Program | Site

Located at 1515 Mockingbird Lane

Programs available: Blend of online and classroom sessions.

Approximate tuition (not including books, etc.): $680 per credit hour, 32 credit hour program. That equals a total cost of about $21,760.

Length of program: Students generally complete the program in two years.


Queens University of Charlotte

McColl School of Business, MBA Program | Site

Programs available: The “Flexible MBA” program combines online classes with in-person sessions.

Approximate tuition (not including books, etc): $1,165 per credit hour, 36 credit hours. That equals approximately $41,940.

Length of program: Generally about two years.

Strayer University of Charlotte

Strayer University, MBA Program | Site

Located at 9101 Kings Parade Blvd. #200

Programs available: There are three programs. The traditional Strayer MBA blends online and in-person classes. There is also the Digital Entrepreneurship MBA and the Jack Welch Management Institute MBA, which are online.

Approximate tuition (not including books, etc): The traditional MBA costs $2,490 per course for North Carolina residents, with 12 courses required. That amounts to approximately $35,820. The digital entrepreneurship option costs $2,985 per course with 12 courses required. The Jack Welsh MBA is $3,850 per course with 12 courses required.

Length of program: 54 months

Graduation rate: 43% for traditional MBA


University of North Carolina – Charlotte

Belk College of Business, MBA Program | Site

Located at 320 E. 9th St.

Programs available: Flexible scheduling allowing for full-time or part-time enrollment. The Belk College part-time MBA is ranked No. 35 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and is the No. 1 ranked public part-time MBA program in North Carolina.

Average GMAT Score: 603

Average age of student: 32

Average number of students: 60 (spring), 110 (fall)

Approximate tuition (not including books, etc): Full-time students will pay roughly $25,000. Part-time students will pay about $30,000.

Length of program: Two to three years with an accelerated 17-month option available.

Graduation rate: 90%

Wake Forest University – Charlotte

Wake Forest University in Charlotte, MBA Program  | Site

Located at 200 N. College St., Suite 150

Programs available: 2 part-time programs: Evening MBA, which meets two nights per week, and the Saturday MBA, which meets 30 Saturdays out of the year.

Average GMAT Score: 610

Average age of student: 32

Average number of students admitted per session: 50-60

Approximate tuition (not including books, etc): $13,373 per semester, for six semesters. The total cost is $81,834. Tuition is all-inclusive, which means books and fees are included and lunch/dinner on class days/nights.

Length of program: Two years

Graduation rate: 95%

Sample of jobs attained post-grad: The part-time program allows for many of the students to get promoted or make job changes while pursuing MBA.  Examples include roles like Department Director, Analyst, VP and Manager.


Wingate University, Ballantyne

Wingate University, MBA Program | Site

Located at 13024 Ballantyne Corporate Place, Suite 150

Programs available: Part-time. Classes are held weekday evenings. The MBA program has 12 three-credit courses.

Average age of student: 30-35

Average number of students admitted per session: 140-150

Approximate tuition (not including books, etc): $22,860

Length of program: Two to three years.

Sample of jobs attained post-grad: Companies represented in post-grad positions include, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, MetLife, Premier, Inc., Snyder’s-Lance, Novant, Vanguard, Domtar, Daimler, Microsoft and Siemens.


University of South Carolina – Charlotte

Darla Moore School of Business, Professional MBA | Site

Located at the BB&T Center, 200 S. College St., Suite 110

Programs available: Professional MBA (part-time). Students take one course each seven-week term, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. one night per week.

Average GMAT Score: 607

Average age of student: 33

Average number of students admitted per session: 20-24 (New students are admitted in January and August)

Approximate tuition (not including books, etc): $36,464. Charlotte residents pay South Carolina in-state tuition rates.

Length of program: 28 months

Graduation rate: 98%

Sample of jobs attained post-grad: Most of the students stay with their current employers and are looking to move up within the organization.
