Coterie has found a space to launch its high-end, women-focused coworking in Charlotte – Packard Place in Uptown.

The brainchild of prominent Charlotte designer Joanna Bailey, Coterie’s idea is to fill in gaps in the coworking community across the country.

The space is scheduled to open in January. Memberships are up for pre-sale now.

The agreement came together rapidly over the past few weeks.

Coterie had originally planned to host its coworking space in the Gold District, just south of Uptown. The location fell through, however, and Bailey has announced plans to build a coworking space from the ground up over the next year.

After hearing about Bailey’s issues with the Charlotte commercial real estate market, Packard Place owner Dan Roselli approached her about being part of the portfolio at the startup hub in Third Ward.

Coterie will work in conjunction with HQ Charlotte, which operates most of Packard Place.

Coterie is billed as the luxury piece of the portfolio, and has a female leader focus. Coterie will offer amenities unusual to coworking spaces in Charlotte, including full-time concierge service and an on-site print and design studio.

Coterie and HQ Charlotte will host co-branded events throughout the year. HQ Charlotte members will also have access to Coterie’s wellness services on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Coterie will have a robust programming calendar.

Tech Talent South will offer female-only coding classes, there will be weekly “lunch and leads” with executives in the finance, healthcare and government space, and there will be a monthly series sponsored by Bank of America around female leadership.
