Charlotte snackmaker Snyder’s-Lance is planning to expand in its headquarters city.
The company is slated to announce a $38 million investment in expanding its Charlotte production facility on South Boulevard and its headquarters in Ballantyne. Snyder’s-Lance also looked at Stockton, California, and Columbus, Georgia.
Charlotte’s City Council is expected to approve its part of an economic incentive package at its Monday meeting worth a total of $1.7 million over five years.
Snyder’s-Lance has pledged to create 130 new jobs, with an average salary of $45,000.
Most of those, about 100, will be workers at its production facility. These include engineers, mechanics, sanitation, warehouse and machine operators. About 900 people work there currently.
The rest will be at HQ, where 280 people currently work.
