Once they’ve lit the tree on the first of the month, Olde Mecklenburg Brewery will turn into a traditional German holiday market for three weekends in December.

Weihnachtsmarkt is returning for the fifth year as an ode to the brewery’s German roots.

“Our Biergarten is transformed into a festive and social experience, true to German towns like Nüremburg, that attract people to their Christmas Markets from across the globe,” said John Marrino, founder.

The market, which will have more than 30 vendors, comes complete with Glüwein (a mulled red wine) and the brewery’s seasonal beers, including Dunkel (a dark lager with caramel flavors), Bauern Bock (a malty lager) and Yule Bock (a holiday beer in the German tradition).

Yule Bock will be released on December 1 during the tree lighting ceremony. Details.

Weihnachtsmarkt will be spread over the first three weekends in December (2-3, 9-10, 16-17) and open from 4 to 9 p.m. on Fridays and 2 to 9 p.m. on Saturdays.

Vendors will be announced on the market’s Facebook pages, which you can find here, here and here.
