Corkscrew Coffee Shop is finally opening its doors in Uptown’s Fourth Ward. We first reported on the second location of Corkscrew Wine Bar (originally in Birkdale Village) back in January and they are finally ready to open as the Vue’s first retail tenant for all to enjoy.
Today we will focus on Corkscrew Coffee Shop, as the wine section of the venue isn’t quite ready but will open very soon.
Corkscrew Coffee Shop, which opened yesterday, will have pastries and fruits — and is finalizing a menu that will include breakfast sandwiches and other light fare.
They will be open to 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. but hours are subject to change based on clientele needs.
The aim is for a classy, yet chill lounge vibes and I think they succeed. The interior has a variety of different sections from a lounge area to work tables and even sidewalk facing seats.
Corkscrew Coffee Shop will bring a much needed establishment to an underserved part of Uptown. Catering to all of Uptown (obviously) but with the focus on Fourth Ward, they are certainly positioned to give the community a much needed asset.
One key piece of Corkscrew is that there is nothing truly like it in Charlotte. If a coffee shop has alcohol, it is generally just on the side where the focus is on coffee. Vice versa is true as well. With Corkscrew the full focus isn’t just on wine/beer or coffee, it’s on both. It’s not Corkscrew Wine Bar and then in small print “we also have coffee.” It is Corkscrew Coffee and Corkscrew Wine, two separate entities that work together and complement each other.
Stay tuned as we will have additional coverage when Corkscrew Wine Bar is ready to open its doors. In the meantime, go check out Corkscrew Coffee and enjoy the vibes.
