Dilworth Coffee is planning a new location on the first floor of the Fifth Third Center Uptown, according to city records.

Building permits show plans for a 1,200-square-foot space in two of the retail tenant spaces in the lobby. Permits were issued Tuesday, and it’s unclear when work could begin.

Dilworth Coffee did not respond to a message seeking more information.

This would be the sixth location for Dilworth Coffee in the Charlotte area.

The company launched in 1989 by the Keen family in Kenilworth Commons and by the early 2000s there were about a dozen Dilworth Coffee locations in Charlotte. The family later sold its roasting and wholesale business but continues to run the franchise operation.

Dilworth Coffee is still looking for franchisees.

We’ll have more info on this as it comes available.
