3 ways to tailgate like a true 49er

In preparation for the UNC Charlotte homecoming game against the FIU Panthers, we want to remind Charlotteans what it means to tailgate like a true 49er grad or fan. Thankfully, the ultimate tailgate experience with all of these characteristics will take place on October 15 in the form of an Oktoberfest.

The Hauser Alumni Pavilion will be equipped with an all-you-can-eat buffet, open bar, samples from local craft brewers, live music, bounce house and games. Also, they’ve extended the hours to 2:30-5:30 p.m. so you can have more time to reconnect and catch up with your fellow Alumniners.

So how’s a proper 49ers tailgate done?

Get the team pumped to play and show your school spirit.

Located along 49er Way between Cameron Boulevard and the stadium, the Hauser Alumni Pavilion is the perfect spot to high five your favorite players right before they head out to the field.

Always have local craft beer fully stocked.

This aspect holds true for any kind of gathering in Charlotte. The Queen City takes craft beer very seriously, so why wouldn’t your tailgate?

Be prepared, no matter what.

The Hauser Alumni Pavilion provides shelter from any and all elements. A true 49ers fan would never let wind, rain, snow or anything else get in the way of supporting the team. And don’t forget, the pavilion has food and drinks, so you’ll be able to fuel up for extreme cheering.

So there you have it, the most important steps to tailgate like a UNC Charlotte grad or fan.

Don’t miss the UNC Charlotte Homecoming Oktoberfest Tailgate on October 15 since it will definitely have all the tools for a proper 49er tailgate.

Tickets are $10-$40, so snag those puppies while they’re still available and go Niners!

P.S. Save the date, UNC Charlotte and the Agenda are joining forces for a special reader tailgating event on November 12. More details to come soon.
