Even if we’re still waiting for cooler temperatures to arrive, it’s time to start visiting pumpkin patches around the Charlotte area to pick out the perfect jack-o-lantern.
Hours vary by day of the week, so check before heading out. Many also offer hours and prices for schools and other groups during the week.
Truist Field Pumpkin Patch: On Saturday, October 17, Truist Field in Uptown is turning into a pumpkin patch with pumpkins for sale for $10-$20. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reserve your spot here.
Aw Shucks! Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch
This farm is perfect for parents looking to keep their kiddos of any age occupied for a few hours. There’s a corn maze that changes in design every year, a play area, bonfires, and an animal barn with goats, pigs, turkeys, and other farm animals you can pet and feed.

Bush-N-Vine Farm
Fall Farm Fun continues this year at Bush-N-Vine Farm, though most activities will happen on a smaller scale. There will be a bounce house for the kiddos, live music, and of course pumpkin picking.

Carrigan Farms
During the day, a hayride will take you to the patch so you can hunt for your perfect pumpkin. But there’s also plenty to do at night, whether you prefer spooky or sweet Halloween activities. You can opt for the night hayride which will take you to a bonfire (you can bring your own s’ mores materials for roasting) or head to “Scarrigan Farms” for a haunted trail (not for kids).

Cherry Place Farm
If you’re looking for a quaint family farm, this is your spot. They’ve got a corn maze, hayrides, farm animals, kids’ activities, and free popcorn.
Location: 1922 Oakdale Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina
Open: Saturdays and Sundays beginning Oct. 3
Admission: $8

Millstone Creek Orchards
This season Millstone Creek is offering a Pumpkin Pickin’ Adventure that includes access to all the u-pick fields (apple, gourds, and fall grapes), a hayride, and a mini apple cider slushie.

Open: Oct 1-31; Tuesday-Friday: 10 am.. to noon, Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday: 1-4 p.m.

Patterson Farm
Another option for parents who want to keep their kids busy, Patterson Farm has playgrounds, puppet shows, a Barnyard Ball Zone, in addition to pick-your-own pumpkins. And new for the 2020 season, Patterson Farms will have Drive-in movie nights, apple cider, and mini State Fair doughnuts.

Potter’s Pumpkin Patch
Not exactly a pumpkin patch in the traditional sense. Potter’s Pumpkin Patch is an annual, pumpkin-themed gallery crawl featuring potters from the Seagrove area. Wares will include ceramic pumpkins and gourds, autumn leaf pottery, and nature scene pottery.

Shelby Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch
If you’re on the hunt for haunted attractions, add Shelby Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch to your list. They have the usual daytime activities like pumpkin picking, slides, zip-lining, and apple launching, plus a spooky corn maze and Barn of Corn-fusion on Friday and Saturday nights.
Location: 120 Broadway Drive, Shelby
Open: Now through Nov. 1; Fridays 4-10 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 10-p.m., and Sundays 2-8 p.m.

Wise Acres
What could be better than eating pizza and picking a pumpkin on a sunny fall day? Not much. Wise Acres also has a corn pit, wagon rides, a corn maze, zip lines, playgrounds, and a barrel train.

Open: Now through November 4; Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
