The Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina in Latta Arcade on Tryon Street officially closed its doors yesterday.

While there is another Salsarita’s around the corner in Overstreet Mall, the Latta Arcade location is in the heart of the southern part of uptown and home to most of Wells Fargo’s 20,000 employees.

The disappointment was palpable.

After tracking down Ryan Olech, the man in the video, we found out that he works in the Duke Energy Center, making this location only a block away from his office.

He would go there every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to order the two taco combo for $7.35, noting that the workers knew his order by heart.

Salsarita’s CEO said this will allow the company to research other locations in Charlotte.

Phil Friedman said the Overstreet Mall location will be able to serve Uptown well. Charlotte is Salsarita’s headquarters city.

There is a new tenant lined up to fill the space, but the info has not yet been made public.

Stay tuned.
