While the youngsters are drinking pitchers at Sycamore or eating sushi from Soul Gastrolounge, what should you do for a cool date night as a married couple in Charlotte?

Answer: Barrington’s for dinner and then Foxcroft Wine Co SouthPark for a drink. It’s the ideal date night combo.

Classy, subtle entrance at Barrington’s. Not easy to find, but delicious.

Barrington’s is arguably the best restaurant in Charlotte. It’s part of Bruce Moffet’s restaurants (Bruce also owns Good Food and Stagioni).

The restaurant is cozy. It’s intimate. You’ll need a reservation, or you’ll need to take your chance at grabbing one of the six seats at the bar.

Order the mussels ($11) as an appetizer. Make sure to get extra bread for dipping.

Order the Rigatoni w/ Italian Sausage ($17) or the Seared Organic Chicken ($23). Honestly, the chicken gives Carpe Diem’s fried chicken a run for the best dish in Charlotte.

Finish the meal with the coffee cake ($9.50). It’s outstanding.

About 30 feet away is Foxcroft Wine Co.
