A “Fillmore Underground” will be going in at the AvidXchange Music Factory. Big on a few levels: Live Nation believes in Charlotte and the people here, the venue will fill part of the void left by the closing of Tremont and The Chop Shop, and it should sound great.

Times listed are when the show is scheduled to start, not when the doors are opened. Unless otherwise noted, prices are before taxes and fees.

Agenda Picks

  • 5/13: Phantom Pop, Funk Rush; Evening Muse, 10:30 p.m., $6-$8 (tickets). A heavy dose of horn and keys pushes the jazzy soul sounds of Phantom Pop to a place of their own. Catch them while you can in the most intimate setting in Charlotte. I have a feeling when this group comes back, they’ll be playing a bigger room.

  • 5/14: Scythian, Neighborhood Theatre, 8 p.m., $20-$22 (tickets). Scythian plays a different style of Celtic music, incorporating contemporary sounds into performances that can begin with a traditional Irish reel or jig, and end with an old-time sailor song.
