Do you remember the warm weather? Those few days followed by chilly spring weeks (that can honestly just go away now)? Well that got some people excited for warmer weather and I’ve seen spring trends start to pop up here and there. I’m not even talking about those stylish women out there, but the men who have been stepping up their styling game.
With all the new and classic men’s trends circulating through Charlotte, I took my friend Chris to Revolve Upscale Men’s Consignment on East Boulevard for a head-to-toe makeover.
Note: He was not excited at all. But once he had three women dressing him head to toe and telling him how great he looked, he noticeably perked up.
A spring work look
Baggy, ill-fitting suits are a thing of the distant past. You want a fitted, tailored option in tones that can be matched to everything and worn year round. This designer option can be paired with deeper colors in the winter and brighter pastels in the spring and summer to transition it through every season. Add texture with a subtle dress shirt pattern and personality with brightly colored accessories, such as the orange pocket square and lapel pin.
Some men choose to stay away from white trousers (maybe because of the chance to spill?) but it’s an easy neutral to add to your closet. Try white chinos with a pastel button down for a casual dinner and add the cool colored sport coat and white dress shoes to dress it up a bit.
This is a menswear look I see a lot and I don’t think you can go wrong with it. A simple gingham button down (in any color) plus pastel, white or khaki chino shorts. Slip on a perfectly worn-in pair of driving mocs (like this Ferragamo option) to complete the easy look. Chris ended up walking away with this entire outfit.
Think these designer looks are out of your price range? Charlotte has a bottomless consignment and thrift store scene ranging from bargain shopping to designer. There are some killer options for both men and women in all price ranges – check out Katie’s round-up of those here.
