Sleeping in, grabbing a café au lait and hitting up a local farmers market have always been a part of my Saturday agenda. There’s something peaceful about browsing through endless local produce, long stemmed flowers and families toting eager little ones.
Even though most 20-somethings are probably sleeping off their booze (guilty as charged), I always felt like it was the perfect way to kickstart a weekend. Life just seems to slow down at the farmers market and for that I am thankful.
As an avid coffee drinker, Not Just Coffee was always on my Charlotte to-do list – no question about that. As a Charlotte transplant, I made it my sole mission to find Not Just Coffee and drink its goodness. What I didn’t know is that when I found the mecca of Charlotte coffee spots, that I’d find the holy grail of farmers markets.
Atherton Market, you found me at my lowest point. And by lowest point, I mean I really needed fresh flowers to add to my new apartment. The market is full of vibrant local vendors, bustling crowds and all the local produce your heart could ever dream of and then some. Go ahead and browse through all the booths, sample all the deliciousness, grab a coffee and start your Saturday in all the right ways.
