Last night was the first #AgendaLIVE, our laid-back no-pressure monthly excuse to hang out with cool people and support local businesses. To be honest, we were a little nervous it would be like a depressing birthday party no one shows up to and that Ted and I would just be sitting there alone eating hotdogs and talking about how sad we are. While we would have been happy to eat hotdogs with even just one person, lots more showed up instead and it was so so awesome. Thank you.

We picked JJ’S Redhots as our first venue for several reasons:
- They are cool and support things like this.
- They let us invent our own hotdog with Lance gold-n-cheese crackers on it (hat tip to Danny Gassaway for masterminding that).
- Their rooftop patio is an unmatched hangout location.
- They are cool and support things like this. (Worth repeating.)
There was no real agenda for #AgendaLIVE (har har)–only to toss it out, cross our fingers and see what happened. It’s hugely important to us that the Agenda starts as and remains an intimately human venture so we just wanted to see who’s behind the screen reading this stuff. What happened really blew us away.
You guys showed up, met people, had some pretty intense conversations (and some not so intense ones), ate hotdogs and hopefully had fun. For me, the common theme in most conversations was that Charlotte is ripe for opportunities like this, that the community is there to drive it forward, that there are SO MANY stories to tell and that now is the time to strike. The iron is screaming hot.
So to everyone who made it out, thank you for sharing your stories and letting us know what you love (and also what you don’t). We’re really excited to keep building this with you. To anyone who missed it, we’ll be back next month at a new location. Keep an eye on Twitter and Instagram (and sign up for the newsletter) for details.
