There’s art everywhere around town, if you know where to look.

The Arts & Science Council has managed a public art program since 1995 and since 2003, both the city and the county have required 1 percent of their capital projects to go toward artwork. Private landowners have chipped in as well. Together, they make our city a more interesting place to live.

There are more works of public art out there. But 152 are on file with the city of Charlotte, which keeps them in a database. Here’s where you can find them.
