Senior Systems Engineer

Overview:
The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continued growth, security, and reliability of IT systems. An advanced level of knowledge and experience will be essential for implementing new systems, as well as diagnosing issues with existing systems. Must be capable of understanding and documenting IT processes with high accuracy and attention to detail. Must be able to effectively communicate with internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the maintenance, upgrades, and overall system stability
• Ensures performance of mission-critical systems, servers, and applications meets business SLA
• Provide senior-level systems engineerIng assistance to the software development team on all internally developed systems
• Propose, develop, implement and monitor standard policies for Identity and Threat management
• Maintain the storage environments located at the data centers which includes developing a data retention plan, monitoring the overall health of SAN environments, and developing plans for future SAN expansions when required
• Responsible for implementation of the Disaster Recovery Plans and associated processes
• Develop and maintain system configuration documentation and standards
• Responsible for the development of procedures and documentation for internal applications, 3rd Party IT Systems, and updating company standards
• Networking (LAN/WAN) experience, with knowledge of switching and routing technologies
• Powershell Scripting, SQL Server Administration, Virtualization & cloud computing experience
• Deep functional level of understanding of firewall and security principle technologies
• Ability to quickly and efficiently identify underlying root cause of errors and alerts
• Provide Active Directory and Group Policy management
• Design, deploy and manage VMWare vSphere environments
• Address issues around Office 365 deployments and escalated issues
• Manage on-premises Microsoft Exchange servers
• Configure and manage firewalls and network equipment
• Assume a technical leadership role in problem-solving and root cause analysis
• Commvault experience is a plus
• AzureAD
• Manage and ongoing development of Intune policies

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and equivalent work experience
• 8+ years IT support experience
• 4+ years building, migrating, and managing Windows server environments
• MSP experience preferred
• MCSE preferred
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server (2012-2019)
• Expert knowledge of Active Directory
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of VMWare (6.7)
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Exchange (2010-2016)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL (2012-2019)
• Advanced knowledge of IT security best practices
• Advanced knowledge of backup and recovery best practices
• Advanced knowledge of Networking protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS/DDNS, load-balancing, VLAN segmentation, VPN, etc.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAN / NAS
• Maintain clear and efficient communication
• Ability to set priorities and complete projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work quickly, independently, and effectively with little direct supervision
