Charlotte business mogul Felix Sabates put his Quail Hollow home back on the market this week, asking $5.75 million.
Quick background: Sabates is a long-time CEO with a yacht dealership and a Mercedes Benz dealership, among other businesses. He’s also had a hand in a NASCAR team and the Charlotte Hornets, and was a part of a group that put in a bid for the Panthers in 2018.
Sabates bought the Quail Hollow lot in 2000. The completely custom home was finished in the early 2000s.
The exact address is 7430 Baltusrol Lane. At 9,106 square feet, it has 5 beds and 6 full and 2 half baths.
Susan May at HM Properties has the listing.
The house went on the market last summer but May says they decided to take it down amid the ongoing pandemic earlier this year. At the time, the asking price was $5.65 million.
Recent activity on Baltusrol Lane inspired Sabates to list his home again, this time asking $5.75 million. May says the $100,00 asking price increase is justified, given that David Tepper bought a house on the street this month for $5.35 million. And a neighboring house sold in February for $4 million.
“Big houses are selling,” she says. “And this is the best panoramic view of the Quail Hollow Golf Course.”
The multi-million-dollar-mansion has views of the 13th green; 14th tee box, green, and fairway; partial 15th fairway and tee box; 16th green and fairway; 17th tee box and green; and the 18th fairway. That’s impressive.
7430 Baltusrol Lane is a completely custom home to begin with — with $1 million in millwork alone — but in recent years they’ve also added an eight-car garage, updated the kitchen, and closed in a two-story great room to make a second-floor entertainment lounge with a bar. The pool and spa are also new.
The best spots in the house are the wine cellar and double-decker terrace with those unbeatable golf course views.
