Tired of cooking or feeling uninspired in the kitchen? Good news, these Charlotte restaurants are offering family-style meals and DIY meal kits.
Whether you’re craving comfort or want a fancy meal at home, here are 24 options.
(1) NC Red
Details: Choose either a dinner for two for $30 (half entree, two small sides, two biscuits or cornbread) or a dinner for four for $60 (whole entree portion, two sides, four biscuits/cornbread, and two desserts).
Entrees: Half fried chicken or Nashville hot chicken; half herb-roasted chicken; fried catfish; or NC trout (an additional $5).
Sides: Collard greens, coleslaw, green beans, sweet potato fries, potato Salad, mac and cheese, and giardiniera.
Desserts: Banana pudding cheesecake, Atlantic Beach pie, chocolate bourbon pecan pie, and apple pear tart.
To order: Takeout is available Tuesday through Saturday from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Orders can be placed over the phone (704.321.4716) after 1 p.m. and you can pick your takeout time.
Family meal box: In addition to full and half “pans” (192 ounces) of protein (steak, chorizo, chicken, shrimp, and beef) and DIY arepa and empanada kits, Sabor now offers a $30 family meal box that includes:
- Six flour tortillas
- 12 corn tortillas
- Two proteins
- Rice and beans
- Your choice of queso, pico, or guacamole
- Your choice of salsa

(3) Del Frisco’s
Steak Meal Kit: It’s a fun DIY project. Del Frisco’s now offers an $85 steak meal kit. The kit includes:
- Two Prime NY Strip steaks (16 ounces)
- Del Frisco’s seasoning blend
- Chef’s mushroom mix
- Unsalted butter
- Baby mixed greens
- Shaved red onions
- Blue cheese crumbles
- Balsamic vinaigrette
Family meal: For $45 a person, you get a salad, entree, two sides, and dessert.

Details: Hawkers offers three different family meal options that feed four to eight people — $35 gets you roti canai (4 roti), one family sized main entree, and one soft drink; $65 gets you roti canai (8 roti), two family sized main entree, and two soft drinks; and $90 gets you roti canai (12 roti), three family sized main entree, and three soft drinks
Entrees: Chow Faan, basil fried rice, Po Po Lo’s chicken curry and rice, Po Po Lo’s tofu curry and rice, yaki udon, pad thai, Hokkien Mee, and chicken lo mein.
Extras: 25 Hawkers chicken wings ($35), 30 golden wontons ($38), 16 Yi-Yi’s chicken dumplings ($26), and ginger cheesecake ($7).

(5) Flour Shop
Details: Flour Shop’s menu changes almost daily and includes starters, salads, pastas, mains, sides, bread, and dessert. Pasta dishes serve four ($28 to $32) and range from rigatoni and meatballs, bolognese lasagna, and prime rib. Flour Shop also provides detailed instructions on reheating family meals. The restaurant also just added 16-inch pizzas.
To order: Hours are 4-8 p.m. each day. Call 980.299.3754 to place your order and again when you arrive for curbside pick up. Flour Shop also offers $5 delivery within the neighborhood on orders of $50 or more.
(6) Noble Smoke
Meats: Noble Smoke has tons of meats and sides available to go, as well as whole, frozen Joyce Farms chickens. They recommend picking up a whole protein ($90 to $120) like smoked the turkey breast, beef brisket, or a smoked pork butt. Whole proteins feed about five.
Sides: Pan-fried corn, Zack’s collards, pickled beets, and more. All are available in 8-, 16-, or 32-ounce portions.

(7) Yafo Kitchen
Details: Yafo’s family meal costs $27.99 and feeds between two and three people. It includes a rotisserie chicken, two family-sized sides, and one family-sized Greek salad.
Sides: Tomato cucumber salad, hummus, chickpea salad, purple cabbage slaw, quinoa salad, tabbouleh, sumac onions, beets, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower with tahini, mac and cheese, cumin rice, and rotisserie potatoes.

(8) Mama Ricotta’s
Details: Each night Mama Ricotta’s has a different family meal deal (announced on Instagram) sold uncooked with heating instructions. So far they’ve done penne alla vodka, spaghetti with beef meatballs, spinach and four-cheese lasagna, and other Italian comfort dishes. The meals feed four to six people and come with a dozen rolls for $40. (Some days they throw in dessert, too.)
Meal: The “familia feast” feeds between four and five people for $40. You choose from two large pizzas, two large pastas (double servings), or one pizza and one large pasta. Salad and bread are included with each feast option.
Pastas: Rigatoni with chicken; rigatoni with sausage and broccoli; San Lorenzo; lemon linguine with chicken; linguine carbonara; or margherita.
Pizza: Margherita (red); Calabria piccante (red); pepperoni (red); prosciutto (red); San Lorenzo (red); La Neve (white); Angelina (white); Mozzone (white); or pesto (white).
(10) The Fig Tree
Details: At the beginning of the week, they roll out a menu that features a different family meal daily on their Instagram. This week they’ve got duck confit, Jambalaya, and lamb shanks. Prices vary daily, but it’s not cheap ($60-$200 for four people).

(11) Sea Level
Details: The to-go menu changes, but popular features so far include roasted whole chicken, shrimp and grits, and veggie lasagna. Meals feed four people for $40.
(12) Bulla Gastropub
Details: Family-style meals serve between four and five people for $40. There are six options, including paella, grilled steak, and salmon.

Entree options: Adobo-spiced tofu ($32); roasted chicken ($42); chicken, pot roast, or eggplant ($45); salmon, grass-fed beef kofta, organic tempeh kofta ($55); or wagyu flank steak ($66).

(14) The Waterman

(15) Midwood Smokehouse
Details: Their party packs come with two meats and two sides, and they have four size options, depending on how many you’re feeding. Meals for four to six people start at $48. You can also add drinks, desserts, and extra sides.

(16) Flower Child
Details: Family meals feed up to six people and include choice of protein, large chopped vegetable salad, and two large sides. Family packs start at $40 with code Flower35 (normally $61.50).

Details: Snooze has weekday breakfast/brunch kits, including a taco party, pancake party, and hash bash, that feed up to six people. They’re priced $50-$55.
Pancake party: A $50 pancake party includes enough batter for 16 pancakes, 12 slices of bacon, 15 eggs, eight slices of bread, avocados, and plenty of toppings for the pancakes and toast.
Details: All meals serve four people and include salads, sides, bread and butter, and dessert. Entree options include grilled chicken, baby back ribs, chicken pasta, grilled salmon, sirloin, cheeseburgers, and chicken tenders. Prices run $29.95-$49.95.
(19) Legion Brewing
Details: There are 27 family-style options which serve up to six people. Giant beer pretzels, pizzas, wings, salads, burgers, and chicken pot pie are among the options, all priced $16-$45.

(20) Village Tavern
Details: Family meals feed four people, and you can choose from grilled chicken teriyaki, blackened chicken alfredo, grilled salmon, or grilled meatloaf. All meals include salad and a dessert and start at $34.95.

Details: The family meal serves four and you get a starter and entree for $49.99. Starters include a house salad, caesar salad, Mediterranean salad, or buffalo chicken dip for starters. Entrees include Mediterranean chicken risotto, pasta carbonara, pasta carbonara with chicken, or farmers market risotto, or do salmon romesco for $10 more.
(22) The Pump House
Details: Dinner for four includes four entrees, two sides, cornbread muffins and peach butter, Carolina mixed green salad, and dessert for $80. There’s also a different family meal feature every day of the week; each includes an entree, cornbread muffins and peach butter, and Carolina mixed green salad for $45.

(23) Napa on Providence
Details: Dinner feeds four and includes four entrees, two sides, salad, and cheesecake for $80. Some options include pork chops, duck breast, roasted mushrooms, sweet pea and bacon risotto, and three-cheese cavatappi mac and cheese.
