Overview:
The Product Manager prioritizes, plans and manages product features through the product development process in support of the overall product strategy. This role uses business strategy, data/analytics, user experience, customer feedback and technology to create seamless customer experiences. The Product Manager has the primary responsibility of defining all product requirements in line with our product strategy and communicating those requirements to the user experience and technology delivery teams. The Product Manager manages the priority of those requirements to ensure that the highest amount of customer value is being delivered in the fastest time possible. The Product Manager uses data and analytics to analyze their business and prioritize their product backlog appropriately. They provide input into business cases when new products/features are being developed. In addition, the Product Manager will work closely with Engineering, UX/Design, Curriculum & Content & Marketing, as well as numerous other internal and external parties with the goal of clearly communicating their team’s backlog and roadmap and ensuring the necessary support is available upon product delivery.

Responsibilities:
• Owns the Product Roadmap
• Works with global product team to leverage global platform for new use cases
• Represents the business needs and requirements to drive feature implementation and development during the design, development and deployment of new technology, products and systems
• Clearly articulates and clarifies detailed business requirements and user stories that are intended for engineering and user interface design teams to build new software
• Reviews and approves requirements based on product/feature strategy
• Maintains a prioritized product backlog based on defined business value, aligning with Product Strategy and resource capacity
• Provides project management leadership during the implementation to ensure coordination of release schedules, communicate status, issue resolution, resource alignment, and quality standards are met
• Works with the Product Management leadership to ensure alignment on supporting KPIs and are able to clearly communicate to their development teams these KPIs.
• Uses analytics to monitor product KPIs and ensure success metrics are being met, identifies opportunities for testing and product enhancements based on results
• Align efforts across product teams, prioritizing as necessary, and driving/facilitating execution to maintain focus and appropriate momentum.
• Build and leverage solid working relationships with business and product stakeholders, other Product Managers, user experience and technology teams to facilitate successful feature implementation
• Provides input into — and helps construct — business case documentation

Requirements:
• Mission-Driven: Passionate about Discovery Education’s vision to transform teaching and learning, experience in education or ed-tech industry a plus
• Professional Experience: You have at least 3-5 years of product management experience and demonstrated success defining product roadmaps, building collaboratively with design and engineering peers, and shipping at scale.
• Collaborative: Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Communication: Demonstrated expertise working in complex, collaborative, cross-functional teams with strong influence, communication and partnership skills.
• Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: The ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach.
• Learning Orientation: Always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations.
