Overview:
The Senior Technical Writer will report to the Technician Success Manager and will be responsible for the development of product technical documentation, including selection guides, user manuals, training content, technical white papers, product inserts, frequently asked questions, quick start guides, online help content and software help files.  This role requires high attention to detail to ensure validity, completeness of content and consistency with order, style, terminology and branding standards.  The Senior Technical Writer will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that technical content is discoverable, usable, and informative to the end-user.  The Senior Technical Writer should be experienced in leading and developing departmental team members.

Responsibilities:
• Determines and develops a documentation plan and creates product technical documentation as part of a formal process
• Comfortable with editing, being edited and providing feedback to team members
• Maintains and enhances existing product documentation
• Helps establish the uniformity in workflow and writing style across materials
• Translates business specifications into user documentation
• Proactively collaborates and improves/designs training resources and collateral for both internal and external customers
• Organizes information in an easily discoverable, coherent and intuitive fashion
• Understands and adjusts document style and structure appropriately to meet contextual goals and to address the intended audiences
• Lead and support ad hoc projects and initiatives as presented to the Education team
• Desire and ability to quickly learn, develop and teach core product knowledge

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, English, Communications, Education or related field
• 6+ years’ experience in technical writing and/or instructional design
• Experience using desktop publishing tools
• Experience in Microsoft Office
• Experience partnering with Engineering and Product Management teams as part of content development
• Experience using project management software
• A portfolio of relevant writing and learning material samples

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Salesforce as user/admin
• Experience in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator
• Certification in technical writing and/or instructional design
• Graphic Design Background
• Experience in consumer electronics
