Since 1959, Southern Shows, Inc. has been known for producing exciting, quality, timely and well attended consumer shows. Family owned and still operated by family members, we currently produce a series of ten Women’s Show (aka Southern Women’s Show and Michigan International Show) in ten cities from Michigan to Florida. The shows are a fun festive market that features exhibits, boutiques, fashion shows, cooking program, celebrity appearances, and more.

Overview:
The Assistant Show Manager is responsible for selling, planning, and implementation of the production of the Southern Women’s Show. This includes selling exhibit space and sponsorships; coordinating fashion and cooking stage programs; working with celebrities; creating promotions that generate attendance; assisting with advertising and social media campaigns; and more. We’re looking for a dynamic, self starter, creative, multitasker to join our team. Responsibilities:
• Recommends new and special uses of exhibit space to create a high level of public interest, and to promote the theme of the show.
• Under direction of show manager, sells exhibit space, processing applications/contracts to meet established deadlines. Maintains current prospect list, and constantly looks for potential exhibitors.

• Assists show manager in assigning space, and keeping floor plan current.
• Assists with development and coordination of features, entertainment, and sponsors.
• Participates in general marketing effort, and suggests improvements in all aspects, including advertising, sales promotion, public relations, etc., with the objective of building operations to increase profitability.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and reports on sales progress, potential and problems to show manager.
• Keeps prospect database and CRM up-to-date.
• Maintains a good relationship with exhibitors.
• Assists with move-in, show time, and move-out, with particular emphasis on show office. Oversees show office exhibitor and group books, and personnel
• Travel to shows as needed.
• Represents Southern Shows, Inc., at show and special functions–at all times conducting oneself in a manner that is a credit to oneself and the company.
• Post-show. Assists show manager with wrap up.
• Other job-related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Sales experience
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Self-motivation and desire to go above and beyond
• Creative & Marketing minded individual
• Professional image
• College degree and 1-2 years of general office experience
• Ability to maintain composure and clarity of thought and purpose when confronted with highly stressful situations
