Resident Culture has partnered with Center City Partners to open a pop-up beer garden in Uptown.
Date and time: The experience, called Victoria Yards, kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 4-10 p.m. Going forward, it will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 16. It’s named after a historic home located on that corner that was relocated to Plaza Midwood.
Location: 408 North Tryon St. The lot, located across the street from Duckworth’s at the corner of North Tryon and 7th streets, also plays host to the Charlotte Christmas Village and Eye on Tryon, a seasonal 80-foot ferris wheel that made its debut last year and will return again next month.
Details: The beer garden will feature live music, a food truck rally and a bar made out of repurposed shipping containers. Thursday’s opening lineup includes a live performance by funk band Giant Squid Squad and food from Tin Kitchen, Adeline’s Indian Cuisine and Hot Tamale Truck.
Drinks: They’ll have a 9 beers on tap along with a full menu of wines and hard cider. Beers include: Whatever You Feel Just Dance It, Festbier, P-Stone, Spatial Occasion, Baby You’re Out, Pageant Material, For the First Time Again, Modern Rhymes and Nothing Fades Like The Light.
Bigger picture: Programming at this site is part of CCP’s larger North Tryon Vision Plan, an initiative to drive new development in a roughly 50-square block from 5th Street to 13th Street between North Poplar and North Caldwell.
