If the summer heat wave has broken your spirit and no one’s inviting you to post up at their apartment pool (rude), there’s hope for you still this season. Meet Coin Bar, the city’s only poolside bar and grill open to the public.

Located atop the Omni Hotel, Coin Bar offers rare rooftop pool access to non-hotel guests daily in the summer. It debuted last year as part of major renovations for the grand reopening of the 42-year-old property.

Here’s the deal.

Operating hours: Coin Bar is open seasonally to non-hotel guests from 5-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday. The season runs March to October.

Access: To get in, enter at either of the hotel’s two lobbies — the Motor Lobby on the ground floor on East Trade Street or the front desk on the second floor inside Bank of America Plaza. Check in at the desk where you’ll receive a key card to access the elevator and pool.

Layout: The deck features a central pool surrounded by lounge furniture and tables. Couches and cabanas are available for rental on a limited basis — DM on Instagram for availability. Behind the bar you’ll find a game lawn with cornhole and pockets of lounge-style couch seating overlooking the Epicentre.

Big screen TVs: Coin Bar’s monster double-sided LED screen, 22-by-12 feet wide, is visible from anywhere on the deck.

Food & drink: For the 2019 season Coin Bar is featuring a passion fruit theme with everything from passion fruit hummus ($12) and short rib grilled cheese topped with passion fruit pepper jelly ($15) to passion fruit cocktails and frozen macarons served with passion fruit ice cream. Weekly events: Check out $2 tacos after 5 p.m. and $5 Dos Equis on Taco Tuesday and rotating craft beer samplings on Fridays.
