The Content Manager is responsible for overseeing the content team to ensure the creation of intelligent and powerful written and visual content that successfully translates brand guidelines into a wide range of deliverables. The Content Manager is responsible for creating efficiencies in the workflow of internal projects, collateral and publications as well as overseeing content generation for all CRVA brands. This position requires strong writing and editing capabilities as well as solid creative vendor relations experience. Essential job duties:
• Manages daily operations of a team responsible for generation of all creative content at the CRVA, including asset organization and distribution.
• Manages priorities to ensure maximum efficiency while not compromising on quality.
• Works with Creative Director to develop standards for all CRVA brand creative content and manages work of Copywriter/Editor to ensure all projects meet the individual creative content standards for specific CRVA business units.
• Manages major creative content projects from concept through completion.
• Stays current with content management trends and researches comparable projects to recommend the best practices.
• Reviews and approves estimates, vendor billing and monitors project budgets with direct supervision.
• Oversees the maintenance of creative content library/data asset management system and tracks rights associated with individual assets.
• Supports additional content projects as assigned.
• Serves as a counterpart to the Project Manager and Creative Manager.
• Writes and manages copy editing for a wide range of creative materials including, but not limited to, publication articles, print and digital marketing collateral and B2C and B2B tourism content. Keen attention to detail, AP writing style, consistency and ability to produce error-free work are a must.
• Supports third-party creation of digital content such as blog posts and website content via direction of Digital Communications Manager and digital content workgroup.
• Oversees Copywriter/Editor in coordinating internal and external creative projects, helping her/him prioritize workflow. Position would be responsible for final quality control and approvals.
• Approves network of creative content freelancers and contributors, works with Copywriter/Editor to create editorial calendars and ensure deliverables are met on deadline.
• Collaborates with brand managers to maintain brand standards and assure accuracy of information.
• Manages copy-related administrative tasks as needed, such as creating copy guidelines, brand standards, assembling visual assets and maintaining creative archives.
Scope of responsibility
• This job has some budgetary responsibilities pertaining to management of third-party content generation.
• This job will have periodic access to confidential data including company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, product costs and company plans, designs and/or programs.
Supervisory responsibility
• Directly supervises one employee (Copywriter/Editor). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and experience:
• Minimum of BS/BA/BBA required, 5-7 years of relevant job experience in journalism, public relations and/or marketing or a related field.
• Understanding of basic project management and customer service principles.
• Ability to take and provide constructive feedback.
• Able to perform and excel within an integrated, fast-paced team environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Experience with InCopy, InDesign and Photoshop preferred.
• Previous experience managing creative freelancers preferred.
• A professional portfolio demonstrating content management expertise.

Knowledge and skill requirements:
• Excellent written, proofreading and oral communication skills.
• Impeccable spelling and grammar, advanced expertise in AP style preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and fervent work ethic.
• Able to perform and excel within an integrated, fast-paced team environment.
• Photography and videography shoot experience highly preferred.
• 20% ability to travel, work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
