The expansive al fresco dining room sitting front and center makes a statement at this Myers Park home, which recently hit the market at $2,795,000.
I’m all about understated elegance when it comes to architecture (and then adding in layers of texture and color through accessories) — and this house perfectly fits the bill.
The curb appeal is undeniable.
The two-story Myers Park home is located at 1119 Granville Road, one of the most beautiful streets in our city. At 7,986 square feet, there are five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half baths.
It sits on a little under half an acre, and there’s plenty of yard and patio space for entertaining or for kids to play.
The house was built and designed in 2008 by Ruard Veltman, one of the best architects in Charlotte (clearly). And even though the house is already more than 10 years old, the moldings and other architectural details are timeless, which will translate well with a number of personal styles.

I need that front porch. Well done, Ruard Veltman. Listing Liz Lea of Dickens Mitchener. All photos are courtesy of Dickens Mitchener.
The house is massive and everything about it feels luxe, but I love how it still feels warm and family friendly.
The kitchen is one of the best spaces in the house. It’s got two island and two ovens, so if you plan to have dinner parties or host Thanksgiving, this kitchen will give you plenty of space.
It also opens up to the other rooms on the main floor, which I always appreciate — you can supervise your kids playing in the living room or doing homework at the table, or you can talk to your guests while you finish getting dinner ready; either way, you won’t be shut off from the rest of the house.
The bedrooms are incredible. Each one has an en suite bathroom, and the master bedroom also has three closets (another detail I appreciate very much).
The house is massive, but no space goes to waste — including outdoor and patio space. This covered back porch is what dreams are made of.
