Overview:
We are Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates, P.A. (CEENTA), the region’s premier eye, ear, nose and throat care provider for adults and pediatric patients for more than 95 years and we are looking to add to our team. We are currently looking for an Audiology Department Manager who will be responsible for supervising and managing both the financial and professional services and outcomes related to the identification, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of persons with auditory and balance disorders and the disabilities associated with them. Ensure quality care to the patients and support for the physicians by providing diagnostic and rehabilitative services to patients within the scope of the policy and procedures defined by CEENTA. This is a full-time, exempt position and is located in the Southpark area of Charlotte, NC.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of the financial performance of the Audiology service.
• Establish and monitor performance and customer service benchmarks for all audiology offices.
Administrative
• Evaluate practice performance using various reports and data to make recommendations on how to improve or maintain an individual provider’s practice and the practice as a whole.
• Interview, hire and train new employees and coach current employees to perform up to expectations.
• Perform annual reviews and evaluate goals and expectations for employees.
• Reviews and maintains compliance of CEENTA policies to maintain optimal care management. This will include analysis of operational costs of location to optimize patient assessment and care.
• Negotiates manufacturer pricing and determines best practices to assure quality, patient satisfaction and best pricing for goods and services.
• Develops templates and provides operational input as to efficient documentation and compliance with documentation standards for Audiology services within an electronic medical record.
• Maintain OSHA standards to ensure sterilized and safe environment.
• Monitors and maintains CEENTA Compliance standards in regards to patient demographics and medical information
• Attends management and physician meetings pertaining to the audiology service.
• Acts as liaison to outside agencies with regards to audiologic services.
• Oversee credentialing and billing standards for the audiology department.
• Oversee audiology budget including but not limited to staffing, marketing and cost of goods.
• Develops and administers annual goals and operational project plan in conjunction with department members.
Clinical
• Hearing Aids – Provides hearing aid dispensing, including selection, fitting, ear-mold acoustics, ongoing management with follow-up and education. Educates patients on and provides amplification services including, hearing aid assessment testing, real ear measurements and live speech mapping.
• Diagnostics – Knowledgeable in the Performance of Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), Electronystagmography (ENG), Electrocochleography (ECoG), Auditory Steady State Response (ASSR), Tympanometry, Audio logical Evaluations, ETD testing and acoustic reflex threshold and tone decay testing and counsels patient on outcome.
• Documentation – Coordinates and interprets test and documents results. Consults with and makes recommendation on hearing disorders to physicians. Document patient encounters properly in accordance to CEENTA compliance guidelines in electronic medical record software in a timely manner. Sends written report to referring physician and primary care physician
• Counseling – Provide educational and triage information to patient and their families (when appropriate)

Qualifications:
Individuals must have performed necessary tasks to meet or exceed expectation of Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Supervisory responsibilities
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and experience
• AuD degree in Audiology required.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience within an Audiology setting.
Skills and abilities
• Customer Service and organizational skills, data entry, written and verbal communication skills, maintain positive team-oriented attitude with an attention to details.
• Computer software network applications, practice management software and applicable electronic medical record software.
Certificates and license
• NC/SC Audiology License – Eligible for Membership in the American Academy of Audiology.
Other
• Change in expectations may occur with little to no notice and will be reviewed periodically.
