A 15-acre mixed-use development named LoSo Station will bring a boutique hotel, office space, apartments, shops and restaurants to the area surrounding Scaleybark Station in South End.
Beacon Partners, a red hot development company behind cool projects like the RailYard, 500 East Morehead, 1616 Center and Common Square, will lead the development.
The renderings of LoSo Station are beautiful. The project feels like RailYard’s cousin and I’m digging the design. Here are the quick facts:
- 500,000 square feet of office
- 30,000 square feet of retail/restaurant space
- 150-room boutique hotel
- 350 apartment units
“The LoSo Station master plan is such a unique and rare opportunity to plan and develop a Transit Oriented Development (T.O.D.) with roughly 15 fully entitled acres at the convergence of South End and LoSo, and directly across from the Scaleybark Light Rail Station,” said Mike Harrell, Senior Partner at Beacon Partners. “We are looking forward to breaking ground this summer and bringing forth the mixed-use amenities that will enhance and compliment the already existing business and merchant base in this community-oriented neighborhood of LoSo.”
Construction is set to begin this summer with the first delivery of space targeted for mid to late 2020.
South End is now a booming office market and this new project shows that it is alive and well. Beacon will handle developing the office and retail space which will be spread across multiple buildings.
There are two stand alone retail buildings along South Blvd which will complement the retail at the bottom of the various office buildings and residential building.
This project will fit in nicely with the townhome project under construction right next door.
Look for the final product to have some rooftop bars, meeting space, tons of patio and plaza space, and a number of other amenities for tenants and residents alike.
Note: this site plan is NOT final and while it likely gives a good idea of the final product, can change at any time.
With its thoughtful design and hot location, I expect this project to fit in perfectly with the neighborhood’s explosive growth that includes includes OMB, Brewers at 4001 Yancey, Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen, Queen Park Social and much more.
