Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen, known mostly for cooking classes, is adding Saturday morning brunch service beginning December 8th.

Brunch will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday.

A new brunch option in Lower South End is perfect, since you can go straight from eating to brewery hopping without having to drive because Brewers at 4001 Yancey, Old Meck and Sugar Creek are within walking distance.

Let’s talk about the menu.

Chef Alyssa sought to elevate flavorful classics without losing the simplicity that makes brunch so appealing. I speak for a lot hangover-prone brunch lovers when I say thank you!

The menu features bowls, plates, sandwiches, bakery items and, of course, mimosas.

Pancake tacos. Drench these bad boys in syrup.

Keep it classic with The Andrew and a side of grits

Short ribs for breakfast? It’s a thing, and it’s phenomenal with the Morning Buzz.

Also available are grits, fruit, muffins, apple crisp pastry and a seasonal danish. Oh and yes, they have mimosas and beer.

Prices range from about $8 to $13. You and a date could probably get out for under $40 including mimosas or coffee.

My prediction for 2018: Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen edges its way into the top ten brunch spots in Charlotte list, and it’ll be well deserved.
