From the friends that brought you Snug Harbor comes a new neighborhood hang out. Tip Top Daily Market, located next to Hattie’s on The Plaza, quietly opened to friends and family a few weeks ago and is slowly starting to spread the word.
The shop is stocked with “all the beverages and snacks fit for daily consumption,” a straightforward tag line coined by co-owner Jason Michel. He and his friend Scott McCannell opened the shop along with two other friends and hope it becomes a regular stop for people in the neighborhood.
They’ve got an impressive selection of wine and beer with a focus on local and regional brands and an on-premise license so you can buy your own and enjoy it at the counter. See their full insanely extensive beer menu (along with a real-time can, bottle and keg counter that tracks inventory availability) here. In addition to their bottle and can collection, they also have plans to eventually install beer taps.
The shop is designed to encourage you to linger. They’ve got snacks to go with the drinks and will be hosting regular wine and beer tastings. The first free wine tasting is this Saturday, August 29 at 5pm.
The guys say they’re planning to build a patio out back as well as add seating to the front, which will hopefully attract more foot traffic from neighboring Plaza Midwood and NoDa.
