A new coworking space is set to open in a prominent office building along Park Road.

CoCoTiv already has a few tenants working from the 1515 Mockingbird Lane office already, but a true opening is set for August 1.

Its claim to fame? CoCoTiv is aiming to be an Uptown-style coworking space but in the heart of south Charlotte.

The space has modern styling, beer on tap, a sparkling water machine  — but also free parking and access to a fitness center.

Pricing will be as follows:

  • Coworking: $225/month
  • Dedicated desk: $349/month
  • Private office space: From $699/month for a two-person office to $4,999/month for a 12-person office.

As the space launches, they’re running short-term deals on coworking memberships (discounted to $195/month) and dedicated desks ($295/month).

Owner John Vieregg is well-versed in interior design and managing multiple clients.

In the early 1990s, he launched Interiors Marketplace in Atherton Mill, which brought in multiple vendors to sell antiques and other home furnishings. This later became Post & Gray on Providence Road.

Vieregg later spent several years working with reclaimed wood companies. In early 2016, folks at Cushman & Wakefield put him in touch with developer Grubb Properties as they started redeveloping the area just south of Montford Drive.

They were looking for a coworking space, and Vieregg felt he could fill the need.

He’s also brought in an experienced coworking space manager: Mollie Rogers, who previously helped Level Office open in Charlotte.

CoCoTiv hopes to expand in the building and in Charlotte.

The space currently occupies the fourth floor of the building, and could one day take over the fifth as well. After that, they’d also like to open additional spaces in south Charlotte.
