Vice President of Operations Excellence

The VP of Operational Excellence is responsible for managing the workflow for FRA’s conference work product for Production, Marketing and Sales as well as Logistics and Meeting Planning for events. The Operations Excellence Manager coordinates simultaneous plans, oversees scheduling, anticipates and troubleshoots problems across functions and develops solutions to workflow delays within Wilmington FRA.
The VP Operational Excellence works across the functions of Production, Marketing and Sales for Conference work product and Meeting Planning and Logistics for conference set-up and coordination. The Manager works with these various functions to ensure materials and resources flow through Wilmington FRA in a timely manner according to the “forward schedule” and that deliverables meet the established due dates. The Operations Excellence Manager has superior communication and planning skills, the ability to anticipate problems and develops plans of action to prevent delays in the organization’s workflow. The Manager provides weekly progress reports on the “forward schedule” for upper management and weekly team meetings.
The VP of Operational Excellence workflow is determined by the “forward schedule” and associated “lead times” which are set for the fiscal year in April. The Manager utilizes workflow processes and established dates within the “forward schedule” to develop a plan/schedule for the delivery of conference work product through Production, Marketing, Sales, Meeting Planning and Logistics. The Manager monitors the flow of materials, deliverables and/or resources through the processes to ensure on-time delivery according to the established dates for “lead time”. The Manager anticipates and troubleshoots problems to make sure a work product or process remains “on time” in accordance with the established “lead times”.
The Manager develops work plans with schedules in conjunction with various departments to ensure work is completed on time with quality. To confirm that a work process is progressing on schedule, the Manager monitors communication and work between and among departments/functions.
Qualifications, skills, education and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree with Courses in project management preferred.
• Some project management experience.
• Some experience in traffic management in advertising agency or similar business.
