A new retail infill building is now under construction next to the Hearst Tower on 5th Street, where Connolly’s patio once stood.
Before you mourn the death of the Uptown patio, check out what’s taking its place.
Known as the “B Tower,” this project will have 5 floors of retail — including a rooftop bar. It will be a mix of soft goods and food/beverage.
Infill projects add to the density of the city, and the renderings for this project present a fantastic looking building. Its impact will certainly be felt on the 5th Street corridor.
The highlight of the building will be in its food and beverage destinations. Developers say it will likely consist of a casual bar with elevated bar food on the ground floor, a tapas style restaurant and lounge on the fourth floor and rooftop bar.
The second and third floor will be more services-based, like a gym or doctors office. The street level will be improved as well with an expanded sidewalk.
Binaco Real Estate is the company behind for getting this project going. The design is by Peadon Finein Architecture. Construction work is being done by Doerre Construction.
