How does the Ice Cream Sandwich Challenge work? It’s simple. Go order an ice cream sandwich at Barrington’s, Stagioni and Good Food — then cast your vote for the best one. You’ll receive a free dessert and be entered to win a gift card.
The Ice Cream Sandwich Challenge was born after chef trash talk between the leaders of Moffett Restaurant Group’s three brands: Barrington’s, Stagioni, and Good Food — #4, #17 and #5 respectively on the Agenda’s Top 50 Restaurant list.
Anyone who wants to participate should order an ice cream sandwich at one of the restaurants and ask for a punch card. Then you take that punch card to the other two restaurants (people can start and end the challenge anywhere they’d like).
A completed punch card can be returned to any of the Moffett Restaurant Group locations for a complimentary dessert of the guests’ choice, and to be entered into a giveaway for a gift card from the winning restaurant.
For those that have experienced all three ice cream sandwiches, you can cast your vote here.
Voting ends May 1 and it’s an honor system, so don’t be that jerk that votes without trying them all.
Here are the three ice cream sandwiches in the running.
Barrington’s: Chouquette ice cream sandwich – Nutella ice cream-filled pate a choux, pearl sugar, hazelnuts, whipped cream
Stagioni: Banana cream pie gelato sandwich – banana gelato, graham cracker macaron, marshmallow flush, meringue cookie.
Good Food: Banana pudding ice cream on Nilla wafer with white chocolate foam.
I’ve only been to Good Food so far, but it’s my early favorite given the cuteness-level of the dessert (looks like a pretty version of a Choco Taco) and the fact that you get to dip the ice cream sandwich into white chocolate foam.
Good Food ice cream sandwich dunkability: 10 out of 10
