One of Charlotte’s most frustrating parking garages could soon see changes that would make driving there easier.

Just about everybody who likes to shop at Trader Joes has an opinion on the Metropolitan parking garage in Midtown.

The building manager is now considering eliminating some spots and making more aisles one-way.

If you’ve been recently, you’ve probably seen some of these changes being tested out.

Floors 1-3 have been one-way for the past two weeks. Parking spaces on the upward ramps have also been blocked off.

Both changes have gotten great feedback, says a spokeswoman for Bayer Properties, which owns the Metropolitan. Final recommendations are being presented this week.

This still won’t make the space any less cramped.

The parking spaces here come in at 8 feet even — significantly smaller than the minimum size of 8-feet, 6-inches in Charlotte’s developments standards or the 9 feet the city recommends.
