School of Rock

January 9-14 | Ovens Auditorium | $25+ | Tickets

Why you should go: The musical, presented by Blumenthal Performing Arts, follows the story you know and love – a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher turns his class into a rock band.

The Whole Enchilada

January 13 | 8 a.m. | U.S. National Whitewater Center | $40-$45 | Details

Why you should go: The brand new bike race covers each and every one of the Center’s 30+ miles of trail. The Whole Enchilada covers up to 33 miles while the Half Enchilada covers up to 20.

2018 Bulldog Beauty Pageant

January 13 | 4-8 p.m. | Lucky Dog Bark & Brew CLT | $20 to participate, free to watch | Tickets

Why you should go: Winners will be crowned for everything from Best Butt Wiggle to Mr. & Mrs. Congeniality in this one-of-a-kind beauty pageant to benefit Bullies 2 The Rescue. 

Queen’s Feast

January 19-28 | Throughout Charlotte | $30-$35 | Details

Why you should go: Enjoy 3-course dinners at reduced prices from over 100 of the best restaurants in the city.

90s Bar Crawl

January 20 | 2-10 p.m. | Uptown | $20+ | Tickets 

Why you should go: Where else can you relive the glory days, complete with slap bracelets, 90s music, drink specials and more? 

Charlotte Women’s March

January 20 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m. | First Ward Park | Free 

Why you should go: The march aims to help women make a stand, and with over 1,000 interested, there’s no question it’ll happen. The march will start at First Ward Park and end at Romare Bearden.

Final Draught

January 25 | 6-8 p.m. | 7th Street Public Market | $10-$15 | Tickets

Why you should go: Enjoy a themed, quarterly discussion about beer and books that’s focused on turning side hustles into main gigs, complete with first-hand accounts.

The Whiskey Club

January 26 | 6:30 p.m. | The Ballantyne Hotel | $65++  

Why you should go: Experience the full history of Jack Daniel’s through tastings of Single Barrel, Single Barrel Rye and more that have all been paired with specialty dishes. Stick around for an opportunity to tour the Jack Daniel’s Distillery through VR.

2018 Winter Beer Fest

January 27 | 3-6 p.m. | Lucky Dog Bark & Brew Charlotte | $20+ | Tickets

Why you should go: Enjoy unlimited samples of beer from breweries like OMB, Catawba, Birdsong, Wooden Robot and more while your dogs tire themselves out on the patio.

UFC Fight Night

January 27 | 3:30 p.m. | Spectrum Center |  $53+ | Tickets

Why you should go: #4 Ronaldo Souza will take on #8 Derek Brunson in the event’s first time in Charlotte in nearly 10 years.
