The 3rd Annual Shop Charlotte Tour will be Saturday, April 18th and if you love supporting and shopping at local boutiques as much as I do, you’ll want to go.
Shop Charlotte is a shopping bus tour where attendees are chauffeured all over the greater Charlotte area for a unique and fun day of shopping at local boutiques. This year the bus will make visits to the following stops: Green Jeans: Mooresville, Avalilly’s, Bebe Gallini’s, Fifi’s of Lake Norman, Gigi’s in Belmont, The Boulevard at Southend, and Sweet Repeats. Stix+Stones will also have a pop-up shop at The Boulevard at Southend.
What sets Shop Charlotte apart from other shopping or fashion events in Charlotte? Creator Jennifer Malone says it “takes the shoppers into different neighborhoods of Charlotte, introducing them to areas they may not have visited before. With other events, the shops come to the shoppers and they only experience some of the store’s inventory.”
When asked what the women on the tour will take away from the event, Jennifer said “My biggest goal is for the shoppers on the tour is that they’ll get to see areas of Charlotte that they’ve never visited. It also gives exposure to these stores that they may have never reached. With this exposure, my hope is that the attendees of the tour will go back and visit neighborhoods like Southend or venture to Lake Norman and discover other local shopping gems.”
Another helpful hint from Shop Charlotte on how to find the best boutique deals in the Queen City: Follow the boutiques on social media. It gives an insight to their new inventory and upcoming sales. Also, stop in often and get to know the people who run the shops. They’re local and appreciate the business!
Tickets for Shop Charlotte are $30 and include all-day transportation, food and drink at each stop, provided lunch, a discount for shoppers at each boutique, and swag bags. Shopper pick-up for the tour is in Charlotte at 9am and Lake Norman at 9:30am. Charlotte shoppers will return to their vehicles at 5pm, and Lake Norman shoppers at 5:30pm. There’s a good chance that this year’s tour may sell out so be sure to purchase your tickets now before you miss out on a truly unique and local event.
