The Charlotte-area companies making an appearance on the 2017 Inc. 5000 list are a varied bunch. From breweries and swim schools to fintech and manufacturing, these businesses are growing revenue at a rapid pace.

The Inc 5000 ranks private companies based on revenue growth over a three-year period. This list isn’t comprehensive since some companies choose not to participate because you have to disclose total revenue. However, it is a good picture of companies making a splash on the Charlotte scene.

Here are the top five Charlotte companies on the list.

#98 POWER HOME SOLAR

This Mooresville-based company installs solar products for residential and commercial projects. The company wasn’t on the list last year, but made a powerful entry at No. 96 with 3,942 percent growth on $14.7 million in revenue — good enough to make it the fastest-growing North Carolina company as well.

#261 Torrent Consulting

This consulting firm — providing advice on management, sales, marketing and technology — reported 1,657 percent growth, landing it a reappearance in the top five Charlotte companies on $5.8 million in revenue. Overall, Torrent ranked No. 261.

#475 Quimbee

This company is one to watch, breaking through at No. 475 with 936 percent growth on $2.6 million in revenue. Quimbee provides video courses, resources and training for law school students and attorneys.

#608 Spangler Restoration

This Indian Trail construction company is making a reappearance in Charlotte’s top five with 744 percent growth on $16.8 million in revenue. Spangler, which has several locations around the state and fixes fire, mold, water, storm and other damage for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional clients, placed 608 on the list.

#733 Done Right Merchandising

Another Mooresville company kicking it into high gear, Done Right Merchandising placed No. 733 with 624 percent growth on $5.9 million of revenue. The company completes new store setups and relocations for retailers as well as display installations.
