A new film project aims to dispel the myth that Charlotte has no music scene.
Award-winning creative agency Priceless Misc partnered with Camp North End, a game-changing new development just outside Uptown, to showcase eight local artists.
The goal of the completed project is to build buzz around the Charlotte music scene and encourage people to catch the acts live. It was filmed at Camp North End not only for its gritty visual appeal but for the future vision of the space, as well.
“A lot of Charlotte’s progress is built on paved-over history,” said executive producer Matt Tyndall. “We appreciate [Camp North End’s] vision and dedication to re-use of space.”

The visual album features established and up and coming local artists.
“The hope is that, even if you don’t love all the acts, you’ll be able to enjoy some of them,” said producer and editor Erik Button. “We tried to be thoughtful about including established staples of the scene, like Sinners and Saints, as well as newcomers like Alexa Jenson.”

The full Down Yonder album will be released on August 24.
It’ll be available for purchase for $35 and includes a CD, visual album and limited-edition t-shirt designed by Elisa Marie Sanchez.
Sounds like a steal. Plus, all profits will benefit Girls Rock Charlotte, a local nonprofit music camp for girls.
